Haldwani's are clustered where the footfall is — around the main market, along Kaladhungi Road, and near the Mukhani and Damuadhunga side of town.

We are at Damuadhunga, on Panchakki Canal Road near Inspiration School. Ground floor, no stairs, parking outside. Ten minutes from most of the city, and about fifteen from Kathgodam station if you are arriving by train.

What to actually check before you go

Things worth asking that nobody thinks to ask until they are standing there:

How many controllers come with the hour? This is the one that catches people out. A rate quoted for "one hour PS5" may mean one controller. Four friends and one controller is three people watching.

Is it air conditioned? In May and June in Haldwani this is not a luxury. An hour in an un-cooled room with a console running is genuinely unpleasant.

Which games are actually installed? Ask before booking rather than after. FC 26, GTA V, Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Spider-Man cover most requests, but if your group came specifically for one title, check that title.

Can you book a slot, or is it walk-in only? Walk-in on a Saturday evening in Haldwani means waiting. Anywhere that lets you reserve a time is worth using.

If you have a PS5 and three controllers at home, you do not need a gaming lounge for FC 26. You need it for the things you cannot have at home — VR, a proper force-feedback racing rig, four people on a screen bigger than your room allows, and nobody's parents telling you to keep it down.

The racing rig is the clearest case. If you have only ever raced with a controller, an hour on a wheel with pedals and a seat that pulls against you ruins controller racing permanently. That is not a thing you can replicate at home for less than the cost of a lot of hours.

Going as a group

Most bookings here are three to six people, and that is what the room is built around.

Two hours works better than one — an hour ends just as everyone has settled in and stopped being polite about who plays next. Book several setups on one order and the whole group plays at once rather than taking turns, which is the difference between an outing and a queue.
