Gaming Zone in Haldwani: A Straight Guide to Prices, Setups and Booking

If you have looked for somewhere to play in Haldwani, you have probably run into the same problem we did before we opened: nobody tells you the price until you turn up. You get a phone number, a couple of photos, and "come and see."

So here is everything, in the open. What an hour costs on each setup, how many controllers you actually need, and when it is worth booking ahead instead of walking in.

What an hour actually costs

These are the real counter rates — the same numbers our billing system charges. Nothing is added at the end.

The cheapest way in is ₹50 for half an hour on PS4. That is deliberate — plenty of people want twenty minutes of FIFA after college, not a whole evening, and there is no reason to make them buy an hour they will not use.

How many controllers do you actually need?

This is the part that confuses everyone, and it is our fault for how we used to write it.

One controller means one person playing. If three of you walk in and take one controller, two of you are watching. So the number you pick is simply how many of you are actually holding a pad.

On PS5 the hourly rate goes ₹100 for one, ₹180 for two, ₹260 for three, ₹300 for four. Look at that last jump for a second: the fourth controller adds ₹40, not ₹100. Four people on PS5 for an hour is ₹75 each. Two people is ₹90 each.

Bring the extra friend. It is genuinely cheaper per head.

Is VR worth ₹250 an hour?

Honest answer: for most people, yes — once. It is the only thing on our floor that people describe to their friends afterwards, and half our VR bookings come from someone who tried it and dragged a mate back the following week.

But two caveats we would rather you hear from us than find out at the counter.

First, if you get carsick on the Nainital road, start with thirty minutes at ₹150. Room-scale VR is fine for almost everyone; the fast movement games are not. You can always extend.

Second, VR is a one-person setup. If four of you are coming and want to play together, PS5 with four controllers is the better evening — and it costs less.

The sim racing rig is a different pitch. Force-feedback wheel, proper pedals, and a seat you sit down into rather than perch on. If you have only ever raced with a controller, an hour on that will spoil you.

Do you need to book, or can you just walk in?

Walk in whenever a setup is free, and on a weekday afternoon something usually is.

Friday and Saturday evenings are a different story. From about 6 PM the PS5 stations go first, then the racing rig. If you are travelling in from outside Haldwani, or you have told four people to meet you here at eight, book it — you can see live availability on our site and it takes under a minute.

Two things worth knowing about how our booking works, because they are unusual:

• Your timer starts at the time you booked, not when you arrive. If you book 7 PM and turn up at 7:20, you have forty minutes left. We hold the machine for you, which means we cannot sell that time to anyone else.
• Online booking closes five minutes before the slot. For a session starting right now, walk in or call us instead.

You can book up to a week ahead, and you can put several setups on one order — useful if half your group wants PS5 and one of you wants the wheel.

Birthdays and group bookings

This has quietly become one of the things we do most, and we almost never mention it.

Add several setups to a single booking and the whole group plays at once. Four people on one PS5, or two PS5 stations and the racing rig, or the PC and a VR headset running in parallel. From about four people upwards it works well as a birthday, and it is considerably cheaper than the per-head rates you will be quoted by party venues in town.

It is a short ride from Mukhani, Choti Mukhani, Tedi Puliya, Subhash Nagar and Rampur Road, and we regularly get groups coming in from Kathgodam, Lalkuan, Bhimtal and Nainital. If you are driving over from out of town, book before you set off — turning up to a full room after forty minutes on the road is a miserable way to spend an evening.

Open every day, 9 AM to 10 PM. Cold drinks and snacks at the counter. Recliner sofas, air conditioning, and screens big enough that the person watching does not feel left out.
